Horror as Spiritual Practice: Undead Faith Poetry Zine
A poetry collection for the dearly deconverted...

Monster myth and moral panics, deconversion and death, reclamation and rebirth—these are the themes I love about the horror genre, and they’ve certainly been resonate for me as an exvangelical. Today, I’m sharing an extended edition of my horror poetry zine, Undead Faith: A Haunted House of the Dearly Deconverted. I originally released this last fall, and it has been updated with a whole second movement of horror poetry about the experience of surviving, leaving, and healing from a high-control religious environment.
Here’s to healing and joy, even through the valley of the shadow of undead faith.
(P. S. Want to learn more about the history and myth that inspired this collection? Check out my infodump about moral panics and monster myth from last year.)

My sensitive nervous system doesn’t love horror in general, but I am here for this! 😆 love that RIP photo!
