Ostara as Spiritual Practice: Favorite Resources for a Journey through the Wheel of the Year
Celebrating an equinox...
NOTE: I know Ostara was back on March 19 this year, but life happened, and I wasn’t able to post about this holiday on the actual week it happened. But I still wanted to write something about it this year, hence this post…

Today, we continue a journey through the Wheel of the Year—via resource recommendations—because recently, it was Ostara, the vernal equinox (in the Northern hemisphere).
To learn more about Ostara’s place in the modern Wheel of the Year, I recommend Matt Stine’s post about it at Contemplating Resonance.
I personally celebrate this holiday as an opportunity to rejoice in the coming of spring (which I associate with the idea of resurrection) and as a way to connect to the rhythms of the earth and the cosmos. With that in mind, here are some of my other favorite Ostara resources:
Juliet Diaz and Lorraine Anderson’s forthcoming Ostara edition of the Seasons of the Witch Oracle, which, like its sibling decks, promises to be a lovely resource about the associations, traditions, and themes of this season, created by BIPOC voices.
Friday Gladheart’s The Practical Witch’s Almanac includes a good overview about this day.

And so, no matter how you go about this spring time, may you know your utter belovedness and find life-giving ways of being—for this season and always.
