We visited north FL, where we lived for four years before moving here to TN. Those four years were hard for lots of reasons, but this is a gorgeous time of year, and we spent so much time outside enjoying the weather, wild flowers, and each others' company. It all made me feel so much joy.

I'm sad you had a tough week. Boo.

Last week my husband and I took time off and went to Maine for our 12 wedding anniversary. (12 married years is probably a wonder in itself.) We were only gone for 48 hours, but the one full day in the middle actually had glorious weather, so we were able to drive up the coast to the tiny little hamlet where my mom's side of the family used to rent a cabin when I was a kid. My husband had never been there before, but he loved it. It was beautiful, and as unspoiled as I remembered.

As I have journeyed into witchcraft, I've become an order of magnitude more aware of the seasonal changes happening all around me. More than once I've stopped just to capture a photo of a set of blossoms that caught my eye. Sometimes I've just stared at a tree or listened to the much more actively singing birds. So my walks have almost instantly transformed into something magickal. And I didn't even have to do anything except notice.
